The following requirements for membership are
excepted from the Association By-laws:
REGULAR MEMBERS: Any officer or enlisted person, who has been
assigned or attached to, and honorably served with, the 82nd
Airborne Division, United States Army, under competent orders, shall
be eligible for membership in the Chapter. An applicant for
membership shall first file with the Executive Director of the
Association, an application for membership on such forms as shall,
from time to time, be prescribed by the Association Board of
Directors, accompanied by payment in full of the then current
initiation fees and dues. Such applicant shall become a
Regular Member on approval of the application by the Executive
Director. No applicant, having made proper application and
possessing the foregoing qualifications shall be denied membership
in the Association by the Executive Director, providing, however,
that the Association Board of Directors may, in during or since
their service, has been guilty of any conduct unbecoming a member of
the 82nd Airborne Division. The Association and/or
Chapter Board of Directors may, in its discretion, elect any person
to Regular Membership who has been assigned to and has honorably
served with the 82nd Infantry Division, either in World
War I, or as reactivated in World War II, or who has at any time
been attached, under competent order, to the 82nd
Airborne Division.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: Any officer or enlisted person who has
served honorably in parachute or glider status with any other
Airborne unit shall be eligible for Associate Membership in the 82nd
Airborne Division Association, Incorporated.
ALL AMERICAN MEMBERS: Association members (Charter, Regular,
and Associate) may elect to become All American Members by
submitting their application with $150.00 to the National Executive
Director. All Association members (Charter, Regular and
Associate) who have held twenty (20) year’s continuous membership
may submit their application plus $90.00, or those with twenty-five
(25) year’s continuous membership may submit their application
plus $60.00, and become All American Members. Also, all
Association members (Charter, Regular and Associate) at age fifty
(50) may become All American Members by submitting their
application, with $100.00, to the National Executive Director.
Members of the Association, while on active duty with the 82nd
Airborne Division, may become All American Members by submitting
their application, with $82.00, to their military chapter
chairperson. Such All American Members shall continue to be
members for life and shall thereafter pay no further annual dues.
Such All American Members shall be considered as being members of
the Chapter of which they were members at the time of becoming All
American Members and shall be carried on said Chapter’s roster
with full membership privileges, unless they move into another
Chapter area and request a transfer. At-large members will
continue to be carried at-large unless they request transfer to a
specific chapter. A payment of $3.50 shall be made annually to
the All American Members’ Chapter from the Association Treasury.
No further rebate will be made to any Chapter for a member who
purchased All American membership at the reduced rate for active
duty members while they remain on active duty.
