Membership Information

The following requirements for membership are excepted from the Association By-laws:

REGULAR MEMBERS:  Any officer or enlisted person, who has been assigned or attached to, and honorably served with, the 82nd Airborne Division, United States Army, under competent orders, shall be eligible for membership in the Chapter.  An applicant for membership shall first file with the Executive Director of the Association, an application for membership on such forms as shall, from time to time, be prescribed by the Association Board of Directors, accompanied by payment in full of the then current initiation fees and dues.  Such applicant shall become a Regular Member on approval of the application by the Executive Director.  No applicant, having made proper application and possessing the foregoing qualifications shall be denied membership in the Association by the Executive Director, providing, however, that the Association Board of Directors may, in during or since their service, has been guilty of any conduct unbecoming a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.  The Association and/or Chapter Board of Directors may, in its discretion, elect any person to Regular Membership who has been assigned to and has honorably served with the 82nd Infantry Division, either in World War I, or as reactivated in World War II, or who has at any time been attached, under competent order, to the 82nd Airborne Division.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS:  Any officer or enlisted person who has served honorably in parachute or glider status with any other Airborne unit shall be eligible for Associate Membership in the 82nd Airborne Division Association, Incorporated.

ALL AMERICAN MEMBERS:  Association members (Charter, Regular, and Associate) may elect to become All American Members by submitting their application with $150.00 to the National Executive Director.  All Association members (Charter, Regular and Associate) who have held twenty (20) year’s continuous membership may submit their application plus $90.00, or those with twenty-five (25) year’s continuous membership may submit their application plus $60.00, and become All American Members.  Also, all Association members (Charter, Regular and Associate) at age fifty (50) may become All American Members by submitting their application, with $100.00, to the National Executive Director.  Members of the Association, while on active duty with the 82nd Airborne Division, may become All American Members by submitting their application, with $82.00, to their military chapter chairperson.  Such All American Members shall continue to be members for life and shall thereafter pay no further annual dues.  Such All American Members shall be considered as being members of the Chapter of which they were members at the time of becoming All American Members and shall be carried on said Chapter’s roster with full membership privileges, unless they move into another Chapter area and request a transfer.  At-large members will continue to be carried at-large unless they request transfer to a specific chapter.  A payment of $3.50 shall be made annually to the All American Members’ Chapter from the Association Treasury.  No further rebate will be made to any Chapter for a member who purchased All American membership at the reduced rate for active duty members while they remain on active duty.
